FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Q 1. What is TOUCHSTONE GEMS & JEWELLERY ( INDIA ) PVT. LTD ?
TGJ is an established company in the business of manufacture of jewellery based in NOIDA which falls in the industrial belt of New Delhi, India.

Q 2. How long does the Gold Plating last ? Will it turn black ?
No. It will not turn black. If plating is done properly and the Gold plated item is also stored properly in a moisture free atmosphere then the plating will last for a long time. See in “Jewellery Specifications” - Care of Jewellery.

Q 3. What is the percentage of Silver used in your jewellery ?
It varies for different for different styles - you may see this also in Jewellery Specifications. However in short - Sterling Silver Category is 92.5% Silver , Kundan Jewellery Category is above 80% Silver , all studded jewellery categories are generally made in 60% silver. However we can make all categories of jewellery depicted in any percentage of silver up to 93% on special requests in wholesale orders only.

Q 4. What is “Kundan” (Jadau) Jewellery ? What is Sterling Silver ?
What is “Embossed” (Metal). Please also look under Jewellery Specifications. These have been categorised by us as “Styles” of jewellery. Sterling Silver Jewellery is however jewellery that is made in Sterling Silver which is 92.5% pure silver. Our “Kundan Jewellery” is made in silver which is 80% to 90% pure. Embossed (Metal) Jewellery is the only category of jewellery that we have made in a special alloy of brass and copper - but then the plating in this category is superior because this jewellery is ‘electrophoretically’ plated over and above the gold/silver plating. We can do ‘electrophoretic’ plating over items which are non-studded only.

Q 5 . Do you exchange or replace any items purchased from you ?
No. Once an item is purchased we do not replace or exchange or refund the item. It is not possible because of geographical considerations.

Q 6. How do you maintain Product Quality ?
We ensure the highest standards in terms of quality. Since a major part of our sales are via mail order extra care is taken for quality control to avoid any return or replacement request for defects.

Q 7. Does that mean that you will not replace defective goods, since you claim to have a zero defect system ?
No, it simply means that our efforts are towards a zero defect system. Our pieces are hand finished and checked by experienced and skilled artisans. Human error however, does not cease to exit and we will not shirk any responsibility for such a claim on our products ! We do however strive for a zero defect product because our products will lose their charm upon the defects being discovered by the wearer and the article being returned for replacement. In addition we lose more since there is an additional cost for shipping being borne for the replacement. Since the sale is over a distance no effort is spared to ensure that the client gets a perfect product in hand !

Q 8. Will the parcel reach me directly or will I have to do my own “Customs” Clearance ?
The parcel will be delivered to your doorstep ; any customs duty or tariffs payable in your country will have to be borne by you and will be collected from you after customs clearance at that time.

Q 9. What is the minimum order ?
Do you sell wholesale or only Retail ? Do you have a Franchising Arrangement ? There are two kinds of orders - Direct User Order (Retail Order) & Reseller Order (Wholesale). For Direct User Orders - you may even order even One Set subject to our terms & conditions in “How To Order”. For Reseller Orders (Wholesale Orders) - You have to order a minimum of $ 5000 worth of jewellery. You will have to register with us for dealership and we will inspect your place of Sale, Display Showcases, Lighting, Location, which should meet up to our minimum requirements. The commission structures or Franchising arrangement will be fixed only upon personal meetings with us.

Q 10. What is the minimum Shipping, Handling, Postage, Customs Clearance Costs involved ?
We will specify at the time of ordering, but the minimum shipping, handling, postage for a 0.5 Kg parcel is $ 50. For a 1 Kg parcel it is approximately $75.

Q 11. What is the minimum time of Delivery ?
It is not possible to stock everything shown on our website. We have our own in-house manufacturing facility at our “Lost Wax Casting” Manufacturing Unit in NOIDA, New Delhi, India. So in case we do not have any item in ready stock - it takes us a minimum of 7 to 21 days to process your order. This too from the time we receive your money. Some categories like Kundan (Jadau), and Embossed (Metal) may take longer. If you are in a hurry, you may just e-mail us and ask us as to which designs we have in current stock in which case we can mail you the item within 24 hrs of receiving your payment.

Q 12. Do you or can you make the same designs in Gold Jewellery ? 10K, 14 K or 18K ?
Yes we can take specific orders in gold upon complete advance payment. We can make it in 10K , 14K as well as 18K. In case of diamonds - we can supply any quality of diamonds suitable to your budget. But in all gold orders - we believe in personalized service - you will have to e-mail us and ask us for specific quotes of the design you are interested in. We also make custom-made designs to your specific taste, but for that it may be better to meet us personally.

Q 13. Can you take our designs and produce them on job work basis ?
Yes, Send us the designs and we will give you the quotation.

Q 14. What about Design Secrecy ?
If you send us a design we will make it only for you. However for custom work or a single piece custom designed order the charges are very different. We can even make “masters” in silver so that you may do your own casting.

Q 15. How would the pricing be for our own designs ?
It would depend on the number of pieces you order.
These are given in “How To Order” - but the minimum shipping, handling, postage for a 0.5 Kg parcel is $ 50. For a 1 Kg parcel it is approximately $75.
